JULY 2010
USA! USA! USA!  That was the theme for July 2010, won by Bill Connolly (Air) and Dave Schwartz (Land/Sea).   We won't say there was an ex-club President bias with the judges, but it sure is peculiar!   Both winners received a $25 gift certificate to Avenel Hobbies.  Well done, gents!   We'd also like to congratulate Dave on becoming a Grandfather!!
Another strong turnout for a summer meeting - and there wasn't even free food!  Maybe everyone is just havin' fun.   During the short business meeting, the date and location of the NJ/IPMS BBQ was announced - September 11, 2010 at Merrill Park in Edison.   Conveniently located a mile or two from the aforementioned Avenel Hobbies.   There will be plenty of food and drink that day (we have a liquor permit), so come hungry and watch the festivities!  

In other news, the E-Board is working furiously (okay, maybe not furiously, but pretty damn hard) on MosquitoCon XX.   As I write this, a planning meeting is just days away.   President Big BIll also put it out there:   He has a fever, and the only cure is another Regional!!  So, sit back and buckle up, we might do JerseyCon II sooner than later.   We also had a couple of "FNJs" in the crowd - one fella brought a few nicely done dioramas (see photos)

Those of you working on your Monogram builds for "Raised Panel Line Night", don't forget to bring your models - REGARDLESS OF WHETHER YOU COMPLETED THEM OR NOT - to the August Meeting.  More gift certificates and other prizes (maybe a date with Vince?) are in the offing.  Thanks to Big Bill for the impromptu class on restoring panel lines with stretched sprue - ya shoulda been there.
